Overview

The SK5 N-Butanol kit is the official odour expert test developed by Scentroid.

The Scentroid SK5 Sensitivity Kit is designed to provide accurate N-butanol mixtures of 5 to 50 ppm from a liquid N-butanol source. The N-butanol mixture can then be used to screen panellists using the Scentroid SM100 or any other Scentroid olfactometer in accordance with standard EN13725. The mixture is accurate and repeatable thanks to the fixed volume evaporation chamber, micro-litre syringe, and pre-purged Tedlar bag.

Every odour regulation requires the screening of the panellists using diluted N-butanol samples. Until now, the only available source of a diluted N-butanol sample was to purchase pre-mixed pressurized cylinders. The cylinders were cumbersome to transport, required a special permit and storage facility, and would only be accurate in dilution if shaken or rolled just before use. The Scentroid SK5 Sensitivity kit provides an easy and reliable solution for creating exact N-butanol samples that can be used for panellist screening. Liquid N-butanol is mixed with clean odourless air at a fixed ratio using a glass micro-syringe and a stainless steel evaporation chamber.

The N-butanol kit is easy to transport and store, does not have expiration issues, and allows variable concentration.

N-Butanol Basics of Operation:
  • Draw the required amount of liquid N-butanol according to the calibration chart
  • Inject the N-butanol into the evaporation chamber
  • Fill the evaporation chamber with odourless air from the SM100
  • Close the valve and wait for 15 minutes
  • Fill the 1L Tedlar bag
SK5 N-Butanol Kit

Each SK5 N-Butanol Kit contains:

  • Micro-syringe
  • PTFE sample bag
  • Stainless steel evaporation chamber
  • 1/4 fitting
  • PTFE tube
  • Hard carrying case

Overview

The SC300P Scientific Olfactometer is a device with EEG and FNIR capabilities developed by Scentroid.

The Scentroid SC300-P (Scientific Olfactometer) is a specialized multi-sensory olfactometer with EEG and FNIR capabilities for advanced psychological and physiological research and treatment. The SC300-P has been used by researchers and doctors to treat a variety of disorders including post-traumatic stress disorder.

The SC300-P (Scientific Olfactometer with EEG Capabilities) is more than just an olfactometer, but a true multi-sensory stimuli instrument. Up to 8 odours can be connected to the instrument and programmed to be administered to the panellist at various concentrations. Images, videos, and audio stimuli can be simultaneously administered by the SC300-P (Scientific Olfactometer with EEG Capabilities) via its external monitor to provide complete sensory immersion.

EEG, FNIR, and EPrime Connectivity

The SC300-P (Scientific Olfactometer with EEG Capabilities) seamlessly integrates with EEG and FNIR machines to provide simultaneous stimuli readings from the panellists. Trigger signals will provide a clear reference on which stimuli were being administered. E-Prime connectivity allows the SC300-P to act as a master or as part of a large network of instruments in a comprehensive study.

SC300 Applications
  • Olfactory sensitivity testing
  • PTSD study and treatment
  • Multi-sensory psychological studies linking scent to brainwaves
  • Diagnostic and treatment of olfactory disorders
  • Product testing and market research
Basics of Operation

1. Clean air is supplied by the portable air supply module
2. Up to 8 samples are connected to the same sample ports and prepared for presentation
3. Panellists are fitted with an EEG cap and the system is set to record responses
4. A test mode is selected, and audio and visual data is loaded for the presentation
5. The SC300P will then present olfactory, audio, and video stimuli in accordance with the defined test mode
6. During each presentation, the SC300P will trigger the EEG with identification of audio, video and olfactory stimuli presented

Overview

The DR1000 Flying Laboratory is an environmental monitoring station attached to a drone that has been developed by Scentroid.

The Scentroid DR1000 can be used to sample and analyze ambient air at heights of up to 125 meters above ground level, a feat that was previously impossible to accomplish. Air quality mapping, model verification, and analysis of potentially dangerous sites have all now been made possible! While in flight, five built-in chemical sensors can provide remote monitoring of chemicals selected at the time of ordering.

It is often used to sample stacks, ponds, and other locations where human access is difficult and/or dangerous. Furthermore, operator exposure to dangerous chemicals during sampling must be carefully considered. The Scentroid DR1000 flying laboratory allows the operator to stay safely away from potentially hazardous sources while acquiring the required air sample for laboratory analysis.

Overview

The CTair Plus compact and continuous urban air quality and odour monitoring station is an analyzer developed by Scentroid.

The CTair+ monitoring station is a fixed unit that collects information from a variety of sensors and presents the collected data in an easy to understand graphical interface. It has been designed to be dispatched into a wider network of CTair+ units. Due to its lightweight design at 10 lbs, the CTair+ unit can easily be installed and mounted to a light fixture or utility pole. By applying information collected from multiple data points, the CTair+ allows the user to gain a complete understanding of the chemical compounds being monitored.

The CTair+ has been designed to hold 4 individual sensors. These can be specified from a list of over 50+ traceable chemical compounds. The CTair+ has been built to withstand temperatures ranging from -50 °C to 40 °C (with heating module). By resisting extreme weather conditions and by using the included mounting hardware, the CTair+ can be placed just about anywhere!

Overview

A federal law passed in 1970 and amended in 1974, 1977, and 1990 which forms the basis for the national air pollution control effort. Basic elements of the act include national ambient air quality standards for major air pollutants, mobile and stationary control measures, air toxics standards, acid rain control measures, and enforcement provisions.
